Investigation of lead removal from aqueous solutions using modified natural clay: Kinetics and thermodynamics approaches

 ABSTRACT. In this study, the natural clay was modified and removal of Pb2+ ions synthetically prepared aqueous solutions using investigated. The parameters affecting adsorption efficiency were examined in study. result studies, suitability data to classic models, kinetics determined. experiments, it has been determined that pH 5 provides optimum conditions reached equilibrium approximately 15 min. highest found be 82.13% with addition 3 g L-1 adsorbent at a stirring speed 200 rpm. As lead concentration wastewater increases, amount retained per dry unit weight also increases. Experimental showed consistent Temkin model. Calculated thermodynamic constants is exothermic physical.
